Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Life Coaching using Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques is a type of psychotherapeutic process that helps people learn how to identify and change the destructive or disturbing thought patterns that have a negative influence on their behavior and emotions.
How it works in coaching
CBT Life Coaching is based on the concept that your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and actions are interconnected, and that negative thoughts and feelings are the reasons why you find yourself trapped in a vicious cycle.
With CBT tools you learn how to deal with overwhelming problems in a more positive way by breaking them down into smaller parts.
The coaching usually lasts for between 5 and 20 sessions, with each session lasting 30 to 60 minutes.
During the sessions, we will work to break down your problems into their separate parts, such as your thoughts, physical feelings and actions.
Together we will analyse the areas to work out if they are unrealistic or unhelpful, and to determine the effect they have on each other and on you.
